We made it!
Between May 1, 2008 and December 31, 2009, 67 contributors, who have never contributed to the WWLT previously, donated $26,088.60 to the WWLT Center Construction Fund which satisfied the terms of the C. F. Adams Charitable Trust Challenge and the Trust recently sent us their $25,000.00 matching grant.
In addition, the Maine Community Foundation challenged us to raise $25,000.00 for an Endowment Fund for the WWLT Center and we met that challenge too. With the funds originally contributed to the WWLT, we have established a WWLTC Endowment Fund...receipt of the matching funds from MCF ($25,000.00) is anticipated in late January.
We still need to raise some more funds for the Center, though, as we need to complete the landscaping and purchase furnishings for the small meeting room, the office, the kitchen and the guest room, upstairs...and we still are aiming at a WWLT Center Endowment Fund of $100,000.00 which will provide income for the maintanence and repairs that are inevitable for a building in the north country.
