Administrative Assistant

The Woodie Wheaton Land Trust (WWLT) is currently seeking an expectational person to join our team as our Administrative Assistant for the summer of 2021. This is a part-time/seasonal position that runs from June to August. This position does not include housing, so applicants must reside within the region.

The admin assistant provides administrative, communications and public relations support to the WWLT Office Manager, in order to advance the Trust’s long-term goals and short-term priorities. Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:

  1. Maintain Office Operations
    – Assist walk-in visitors
    – Check the mail, answer the phone, and manage the general email
    – Distribute outreach material by mail or in person as needed
    – Organize bulletin board and brochure rack and restock as needed
    – Order office supplies
    – Keep the office clean and inviting
  2. Maintain Data Entry & Record Keeping
    – Enter data to track project labor, expenses, and grant deliverables
    – Maintain adequate records and prepare various reports for the Office Manager
  3. Support Board Activities
    – Send out meeting information in a timely manner
    – Maintain board business files
  4. Assist with Events & Programs
  5. Coordinate Communications & Public Relations Activities
    – Write and submit press releases
    – Assist with writing articles and putting together the bi-annual newsletter
    – Keep WWLT Facebook and Instagram pages updated with news, events, and other important information
    – Post information to the WWLT website, as needed

Skills & Qualifications:
– Administrative office management experience, preferred
– Strong computer skills
– Above-average writing skills for press releases and newsletters
– Experience in maintaining websites and other digital outreach
– Organized and detail-oriented

Requirements:
– Reliable transportation
– Ability to work July 4th

Rate of Pay: $14.00 an hour
